You Care About Where Your Food Comes From. So Do We.
Buying better meat shouldn’t require guesswork. Labels like “grass-fed” and “pasture-raised” sound good, but they rarely tell the full story.
We started Longroots Ranch because we wanted protein raised right here in Boulder County that we could trust serving to our own kids — and because we believe buying local meat should feel clear, honest, and nourishing rather than complicated. Through holistic land management, our ranching practices restore soil health and strengthen ecosystem function while growing nutrient-dense protein. It's a true win-win.
By purchasing a grass-fed lamb or heritage pork meat share, you can stock your freezer, cook with confidence, and finally stop asking “what’s for dinner?” There's nothing better than eating delicious, local meat that aligns with your values.

The Longroots Difference
We manage our ranch as a whole system that recognizes the interconnection between land, animals, and people.
For us, holistic management looks like 100% grass-fed lamb moving thoughtfully across pastures (including beneath solar panels), and heritage Berkshire pigs raised with fresh air, organic feed, and plenty of space to root and be pigs.
Every grazing decision is made with soil health, water cycling, and biodiversity in mind, so the land gets healthier over time — not depleted. We’re raising the kind of food we feel good feeding our own kids, and we’re grateful to share it with families who care where their food comes from.

Nose-to-Tail Eating, Done Well
Our meat shares are designed to support whole-animal eating — a practice that’s better for the land, reduces waste, and keeps more food dollars circulating locally.
When animals are raised regeneratively, honoring the whole animal is part of the responsibility we take seriously. Because every sheep and pig spends its life on our ranch, we know each animal well and feel accountable for using each one fully and respectfully.
A meat share helps make that possible. Instead of cherry-picking a few familiar cuts, you receive a thoughtfully balanced selection that reflects the whole animal: everyday staples, slow-cook favorites, and a few cuts that might stretch your cooking comfort zone (in a good way). The result is more variety, better value, and a deeper connection to where your food comes from.
